While authorities searched the surrounding area, they were unable to immediately find the suspect. However, the sheriff's office said investigators were able to identify their suspect as 39-year-old Amanda Gregson.
Hours later, shortly before 2 a.m., deputies received a welfare check at the Monarch Hotel in Clackamas and learned that it was for the woman they were looking for, Gregson. She was arrested without further incident, said the sheriff's office.
In a Sunday afternoon update, the sheriff's office identified the two victims as 56-year-old Jerry Burns of Milwaukie and 25-year-old Connor Gaines of Happy Valley. The relationship between the two victims and the suspect is unclear at this time.
Authorities said, following interviews with detectives, Gregson will be booked in the Clackamas County Jail and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
